Executive Director

RHI seeks a dynamic, dedicated individual as its next Executive Director (ED). Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will be an experienced, visionary, and compassionate leader with the ability to advocate successfully and passionately on behalf of RHI and the Red Hook community in the public and private sectors. The ED will bring proven nonprofit management expertise and experience in community-based programs, youth development, advocacy/organizing, and/or other relevant disciplines. The ED must be a hands-on leader, strategic and analytic thinker, and problem solver who responds to challenges effectively with sound judgment, high integrity, and a sense of humor.

The ED must also demonstrate fundraising ability, a highly focused social justice lens, excellent communications and relationship-building skills, a deep belief in the power and potential of engaged communities, and the ability to provide a clear, inspirational vision for RHI’s next chapter. Ideal candidates will bring some connection to or knowledge of Red Hook and/or similarly marginalized communities.

Finance & Administrative Coordinator

The Finance & Administrative Coordinator supports the organization’s financial operations by monitoring revenue, expenses, and payments. This role will support strategic business planning and reporting activities. The Finance & Administrative Coordinator will work closely with the Office Manager and Director of HR & Culture, performing operational duties to ensure that the office is run efficiently and effectively. This position has ample opportunity for growth.

Red Hook Farms Distribution Coordinator

The Distribution Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating our 2 weekly farm stands, 2 weekly CSA distributions, 1 weekly Food Box, and ongoing wholesale distribution. All programs launch in mid-June, with pre-season hours focusing on doing outreach to sign up members: flyering, attending meetings, email campaigns, etc. Once the season launches, the Distribution Coordinator handles supplemental produce orders, maintains sign-up lists, collects weekly payments, organizes paperwork, facilitates membership emails with the CSA, and communicates with the farm team regarding harvest numbers. They manage all the logistics of each of the distributions, including set-up and break-down (some of which run concurrently). Outreach will continue throughout the season to maintain membership in the Food Box program.

Red Hook Farms Farm-Based Learning Coordinator

The FBL Coordinator leads our Farm-Based Learning (FBL) program, which welcomes weekly visits from local schools to learn about plants, food, and urban agriculture. For spring and fall, the Coordinator manages all back-end scheduling with schools as well as planning and prep for the visits. With the support of 2 Education Assistants, the Coordinator will co-lead inquiry-based experiential learning activities for elementary and middle school aged students on both farm sites. They will develop new and update existing curriculum. The Coordinator will be responsible for ongoing outreach to schools, follow up emails, as well as coordinating activities with our two Farm Managers. For Saturdays as well as the summer session, the Coordinator’s time will be dedicated to the teen program: supporting the day-to-day activities as well as working with a subset of the teen farmers to train and support them in co-leading weekly camp group visits. Other tasks include light data entry, social media posts, and special event support. A small amount of time will be devoted to the upkeep of the FBL-dedicated beds on our two farm sites.

Middle School Social Worker

The Middle School Social Worker is a part of an interdisciplinary team serving program participants at RHI and will engage young people, enrolled in RHI programming, in social, emotional and mental health services. The Middle School Social Worker supports RHI’s commitment to increase mental health access in Red Hook, and has a pivotal role in shaping counseling service delivery and embedding best practices in an innovative and impactful setting. Responsibilities include mental health screening, individual and family counseling, advocacy, group work, case conferences and case management. Capacity building offerings include: weekly clinical supervision, monthly group supervision, peer support, and monthly case conferencing. College Retention Specialist

The College Retention Specialist supports young adults (18 to 24 years old) to achieve their educational goals beginning when they are in high school and are considering whether college is the right fit. Working closely with the Young Adult Program Manager, they develop, manage, and facilitate the College Scholars Program (CS) and provide educational advocacy. This position provides a creative, compassionate, persistent person with the opportunity to be a part of a strong network of critical support that helps Red Hook youth, many of whom are first-generation college students, focus on the path to college graduation.
