To meet a critical need for food equity, Red Hook Farms cultivates culturally relevant produce for our community, and hosts seasonal weekly farm stands, Fresh Food Box and CSA distributions.
Seasonal Farm Stand
Fresh, affordable produce grown right here in Red Hook! We use organic and regenerative practices to grow the vegetables and steward the land. Support local farming and youth empowerment by shopping at the farm stand! So you don’t miss our farm stands when they open in June!
Red Hook Farms CSA
Support local farming, youth empowerment and fresh produce production! In the spring – fall seasons, we offer a weekly produce share of vegetables grown right here in Red Hook. Supplemental shares of eggs, fruit, and cheese are also offered. We are unique among urban CSAs because the farm in which you invest is right here in your community.
Fresh Food Box
We offer a low-cost opportunity for Red Hook residents to access fresh produce, year round. Sign up week-to-week for a box of fresh, locally-grown produce. Produce boxes cost $10, $8 for NYCHA residents, and $5 for anyone paying with SNAP. Cash, debit/credit, and SNAP accepted. There will be 7-10 different vegetables, for an average of 9 pounds per box. No commitment is necessary, just sign up and pay for the veggies the week before, and come pick up your box the following week. Produce is sourced either from our own farms, or ordered through GrowNYC, who purchases from local farms. Pick up is Wednesdays, 3-5pm, at Red Hook Initiative, 767 Hicks Street. If for some reason you are not able to come at that time, please send someone to get it for you! We will not hold boxes or transfer payment to the next week. Come in person to RHI on Tuesdays to sign up, or fill out an order form online.
