The Red Hook Initiative is positively impacting the lives of hundreds of young people in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn each day. We are doing it by directly engaging local residents in developing the skills and demonstrating the leadership to create change from within. Ninety- five percent of RHI’s staff is from the Red Hook; many of them are teens and young adults themselves. But our work takes tremendous effort and requires overcoming astonishing odds.
